The exposed stone gives character to the interior decoration, whether the house is old or contemporary. On a single wall or in total look, it brings a warm touch and underlines the authenticity of the place. If you do not have the chance to live in a freestone building, there is however the possibility of using new processes and coatings to obtain a very successful natural appearance. But we can also integrate in its decoration some carved stone elements. Fake or real stones? From staff to Burgundy or tufa stone, the possibilities are numerous.

For a more real-life effect

Bringing a little rusticity to plastered walls is ultimately child's play thanks to the facing plates. Not recommended in damp rooms and on fireplaces, they are however ideal for the walls of the living room, the office, the entrance and the bedroom. Made of plaster, these plates, with an average thickness of three centimeters, have the appearance of rough speckled stone which they reproduce to perfection. They are installed on the interior walls with a special glue. It then remains to reproduce the joints using a tone stone joint product. These false stones can be cut with a saw and then filed. The result is really superb.

Apply a stone look wall plaster

The most beautiful effect, the wall coating can be used to personalize its interior, but can just as easily be applied to the exterior. It gives a natural stone look. To be reserved for professionals, the installation of this type of plaster is like a real work of artist. The lime rendering is first of all sprayed onto the desired surface of the old plaster, plaster or concrete block type. Then it is colored with natural pigments. It then remains to draw freehand each stone and each joint. The result is spectacular. The wall coating makes it possible to recreate the appearance of all types of stone: a significant advantage when you are required to comply with planning regulations, especially for houses located in a classified site.

Decorative elements in stone and gabion

Among the limestones widely used for the creation of decorative objects, we find chalk and tuffeau. As for sandstone - a siliceous stone - it too has its place in all rooms of the house. Finally, Burgundy stone is used to make sinks, to decorate an interior or exterior wall or even to create fireplace aprons, legs or table tops. It also lands on the ground. Burgundy stone blends beautifully with modern materials. In a patio-style living room, fountains and small indoor pools made of real stone or reconstituted stone will bring a relaxing aquatic note. Easy to install, the gabion allows to introduce the stone in the interior decoration. It is a steel wire cage inside which are placed stones of different calibers, of various tones. The gabion does not require any special installation and can be vegetated.

Stucco and Staff in the trend

One is composed of marble powder, mortar, plaster, sand and cement, among others, the other of vegetable fibers and plaster. Stuc and Staff make it possible to reconstitute all the desired materials. So it is easy to have stones in the house thanks to a craftsman with undeniable know-how: the staffeur-stucco worker is able to create a magnificent staircase, columns, vaults or even objects with a natural stone appearance or imitate marble to perfection.
