Newcomer to the trompe-l'oeil family: bed linen!

We had already seen trompe-l'oeil wallpapers. But trompe l'oeil bed linen, never! Spotted on the Maison & Objet show, this bluff has everything to create a touch of fantasy in the bedroom and break the stereotypes of a bed that is too wise and too classic…

Trompe l'oeil bed covers

Rare pearls? We found them on the Day Collection stand during the last edition of the Maison & Objet trade fair in January. The brand (previously known as Grain de Couleur) presented two new products with a resolutely intriguing design: trompe-l'oeil bed linen called "Grand Hôtel", one pink, the other gray. On the female version, embroidered nightie, gloves, pocket mirrors and pearl necklace lie falsely on the pillows while on the male version, these same accessories are swapped by an alarm clock, a tie and a razor. What do the two have in common? Give the impression that the bed, which reveals a few folds here and there, was made in a hurry. Everything to mislead our sight! Conclusion: we are very fond of this innovative, chic and unusual trickery…

Sham cushions

Inviting the trompe-l'oeil style on the bed does not necessarily go through the "duvet cover and pillows" pack. Solo, duo or trio, simple cushions bending to the rule of optical illusion also allow them to sow a small dose of originality. For this reason, we have selected for you a few models of choice: the "Buttons" cushion adorned with a collection of dressmaker's buttons signed Let Lucie Faire, at Bonjour mon Coussin, the "Monsieur" and "Madame" cushions dressed as human (suit tie for Monsieur, Claudine collar and pearl necklace for Madame) to be placed next to each other, of course and finally, the knitted cushions by the king of trompe-l'oeil: Koziel!
